[HQ-HCM] MERCHANDISING DEPUTY MANAGER (GROCERY)

I. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Budget planning:

  • Forecast profits and sales, and optimizing the sales volume and profitability of designated product areas.
  • Plan budgets and present sales forecasts and figures annually as well as for new ranges of products.
  • Plan stock levels/promotion schemes based on forecasts for the season.

2.Building the Assortment strategies:

  • Provide the appropriate pre-season product analysis for the assortment definition at the item and class level.
  • Develop and maintain assortment and item plans (assortment plan spreadsheets, buy sheets/key items), translating the assortment strategy into plans that project the inventory required.
  • Develop and execute the historical analysis and forecast inputs to ensure item plans and financial plans are aligned.
  • Create in season forecasts and demand planning, providing direction to junior Merchandiser for execution.

3. Drive 4Ps:

  • Fully responsible for purchasing and sourcing of merchandise for all designated selling zones of the store.
  • Establish efficient sourcing strategies for better, faster and cost effective purchase of products in order to ensure for the right Pricing strategy.
  • Work closely with Suppliers to propose and design the Promotion Plan for each mailer accordingly with the Quarterly Promotion schedule of Aeon.
  • Work closely with Marketing Department and Store Operation team to decide how goods should be displayed to maximize customer’s interest and sales.
  • Ensure the overall merchandise display of selling zone of the store via the translation of customer-centric, and visual merchandising strategies to maximize customer interest and sales.
  • Provide the development of store market layout, schematics, and direction to Store Operation team.
  • Provide the design, direction and placement of the POP, shelf decoration.
  • Seek and review new products on a regular basis.
  • Establish and conduct regular review of procurement procedures and policies in consultation with the Management.
  • Establish inventory control procedures including inventory documentation and listing, replenishment etc.
  • Provide oversight and audit of stock inventory, storage, shrinkage and placement.
  • Monitor slow moving items and taking action to reduce prices or set promotions as necessary.

4.Supplier management:

  • Involved in planning, sourcing and recommending suitable merchandise from local and overseas suppliers
  • Build and maintain excellent relationship and network with suppliers
  • Ensure suppliers have the capability and capacity to provide product in line with agreed timescales and quality standards.
  • Ensure all aspects of supplier performance is properly and effectively assessed and managed, taking appropriate remedial action where necessary.
  • Coordinate with Supplier Management Department to:

· Review of purchase contracts for products.

· Critically analyze performance reports of suppliers, in term of technical capabilities, conformance to quality and delivery, and price competitiveness.

· Perform supplier audits when necessary to ensure conformance to company policies and directives.

5.Leadership:

  • Ensure Merchandising team are effectively resourced, directed, motivated and developed, enabling them to reach their full potential for both individual and Company benefit.
  • Ensure team members are kept abreast of current merchandising related issues both at departmental and Company level through effective means of communication.
  • Drive and develop team’s performance through training and mentorship with a view to optimizing output and achievement of objectives whilst effectively managing performance issues.

II. JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor degree in Economic, business administration or equivalent qualifications.
  2. At least 05 year of professional experience in department store or retail industry management (in which, at least 02 year in manager level).

Preferred skills:

  1. Knowledge of Vietnamese and international merchandising.
  2. Acknowledge of the relevant laws and regulations.
  3. Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Power Point.
  4. Strong in co-ordinating with other persons, departments to complete a job and organizing programs and, preferably strong relations with the related government bodies.
  5. Strategic thinking, strong negotiation skills.
  6. Proven leadership, motivation and people skills.
  7. Strong communication skills both English and Vietnamese.
  8. High level of analytical ability and problem solving skills.
  9. Customer-centric service-minded people with ethics.
