A. Job Description:
(1) Primary Objective:
1. As the top management in charge of any business activities of The Store, Store Manager is responsible for striving to improve the management quality by thoroughly promoting the high-quality business management based on the company’s policy and community-centered management, as well as securing business growth and earnings to achieve Company’s objectives.
2. Also, in cooperation with any related departments and any group companies in the community in which The Store is located, The Store Manager is responsible for promoting activities closely related to local communities, and working to establish AEON brands to build business foundations in the local community.
3. The Store Manager has 6 main responsibilities as follows;
(a) Budget Management and Achievement of The Store Revenue
(b) Operating The Store
(c) Administrative Management of The Store
(d) Tenants, Consignments and Concessions Management of The Store
(e) Customer and Local Community Affairs of The Store
(f) Renovations of The Store
(2) Roles and responsibilities:
2.1. Establishment and proposal (to the company) of the strategies for The Store in mid-term (3 years) and short-term (only next one year) as well as the yearly “Concepts” of The Store, to get approval and officilize from the company. The short-term strategies must be specified in details in quarterly and monthly by groups, divisions and lines.
– Grabbing, collecting either objective and subjective situations and any information from varieties of sources related to the markets and store-situations (either The Store and any competitors, etc.,) to orient the position and status/situation of The Store.
– Analyzing any situations and risks, and focusing future of The Store activities in scientific way, to reason for directing and correcting strategies of The Store from time to time.
– Well-understanding and influencing all staffs including promotors and any personnel facing to customers in the Store, regarding the AEON Basic Philosophies, Code Of Conducts, rules and regulations of the company, every and all law and regulations regarding operation of The Store, to establish appropriate mechanisms (or called “Business Management Systems”) of operating The Stores for eliminating violations in any activities, avoiding all and every wrongful actions in The Store and increasing creditability, AEON brands and trustiness of customers and the community.
– Planning to check the security and safety (including fire protections, mechanism to eliminate any matters which may lead accidents/incidents) of The Store for both customers and staffs/personnel, and keeping high standards of Safety and Hygiene (including food safety and hygiene).
– With the consultations from related departments, proposing, officializing, implementing and executing The Store-related policies, regulations and operating systems by analysis of risks, forecasts of trends etc., for improvements.
– Any other matters ordered from the supervisor and/or company from time to time.
2.2. Budget Management and Achievement of The Store Revenue
+ By the approval from the company, execute to manage budgets, that is planned by The Store Manager, to achieve the target of sales, gross profits, sales revenue, operating income, total revenue of The Store. The Store Manager must also keep maintaining expenses under the budgets, however, maintenance expenses for fixture, equipment and assets of facility must be budgeted and utilized to maintain them in appropriate and ideal conditions by well-planning. Although The Store Manager achieves its operating income or total revenue of the store, the company will not consider them as “achievement” and may be considered as violations of obligations if The Store Manager just avoid using appropriate expenses for maintenance and leave any harmful/non-productive situations.
+ Based on the approved budgets of The Store, keeping track and manage by the control by group, division and line.
+ Based on the approved yearly Concept of The Store, planning and showing directions of the commodity composition and product mix, tenants/consignments/concessions mix, and execute based on such planning and directions.
+ Managing any another activities and executions related to Budget Management and Achievement of The Store Revenue.
+ Planning to execute and manage sales activities of The Store according to the company policy and the approved budget as well as planning and executing countermeasures against competitors of The Store, to increase the share in the area.
+ Planning, directing and supervising subordinates in The Store by ”52 Weeks” weekly sales plan based on information of MD’s guidance, and instructing line managers to execute a dynamic sales floor coordination that goes beyond the boundaries of groups, lines and divisions for customer convenience and satisfaction.
+ Accurately grasp of the environment surrounding The Store and the local community life as well as the events in the society, collaborating with MD HQ and deciding the product composition of The Store.
+ Actively collecting customer’s voices and opinions, to improve products and services to the customers, sales floor, store facilities and anything related to The Store’s activities and business operations.
+ As the total coordination manager of the whole Shopping Center (“SC”) in which The Store is belonging to, instructing managers related to marketing, to manage and strengthen sales force of the whole SC cooperation with the SC owner/representative and its tenants (in terms of promotions, etc.)
+ Managing any another activities and executions related to Operating The Store.
2.3. Administrative Management of The Store
+ Always keeping track of the progress of activities in The Store and instructing and supervising operations to be carried out as planned or budgeted.
+ Supervising business-related compliance and risk management within The Store and instruct and each department within the store to foster a good organizational climate.
+ As the total coordination manager of the whole SC in which The Store is belonging to, paying attention and keeping the environment of the facility and assets of the SC and The Store safely and properly in both inside and outside in all time, as well as keeping the customers’ shopping environment in a comfortable state and managing the buildings and facilities to be effectively used.
+ Deciding personnel / position changes in The Store (excluding Division Leader or above).
+ Determine the personnel evaluation of the staffs, excluding those who Division Leader or above.
– Tenants, Consignments and Concessions Management of The Store
+ Conducting daily management of consultants to tenants/consignments/concessions in The Store, and arranging, dealing into, renewing, updating, changing or cancellation of contracts as necessary.
+ Through communication such as circulation of sales floor, grasping the business situation of the tenants, consignments and concessions in The Store, and giving instructions and proposals for improvement, or providing information to relevant departments of HQ to request cooperation as necessary.
– Customer and Local Community Affairs of The Store
+ As a representative of the Company in the region, actively leading the activities of regional retail markets and contributing to the revitalization of local commercial activities.
+ Grasping the customers’ requests and complaints that occurred in The Store, properly handling them, and building a product management system / service level to prevent those recurrences.
+ Together with the related departments, establishing and expanding environmental conservation activities and social contribution activities at The Store.
– Renovations of The Store;
+ Planning, proposing and receiving approvals regarding keeping appropriate business opportunities (increase / decrease of sales area, renovations, business hours, parking lot expansion etc.,).and making decisions within the approval and execute.
2.4. Planning and Budgeting;
– Watching Status;
+ Grasping the progress of various activities, management and controlling status to ensure that those are carried out as planned or budgeted, and improving its performance.
– Dealing Contracts;
+ Upon approvals from the direct supervisors, proposing to select partners/vendors/suppliers to negotiate, negotiating, deciding, making into and drafting agreements/contracts, and issuing any necessary letters or documents to either internal or external regarding any activities to fulfill the duties, obligations and responsibilities (excluding MD’s suppliers).
– Maintenance of Policies and Regulations;
+ Investigating, checking, auditing, creating, maintaining, keeping in effective and proposing any policies, regulations or rules related to the duties, obligations and responsibilities; then upon approvals from the direct supervisors, installing, implementing, enforcing and amending any such policies, regulations or rules.
– Supervising Staffs, Subordinates and Members;
+ Planning and maintaining all staff activities, jobs, duties and working schedules (including shift planning, in and out administrations, overtime, and business trip) in The Store.
– Education for Improvements;
+ Planning, educating and improving all staffs’ knowledges and techniques by evaluating performance through creating CDP, then promoting if any staffs are met to be knowledgeful enough, with good humanities and performance, to become superiorly.
– MBOs;
+ Planning and supervising staffs to establish the yearly MBO and evaluating every half year.
– Enforcing Company Policies, Rules and Regulations
+ Supervising all staffs in the department to enforce following AEON basic policies/ethics and complying laws and regulations suitable and sufficient enough as a business person by education.
– Information Delivery to Staffs;
+ Communicating with and delivering any necessary information to, the staffs in The Store for carrying out their duties.
– Reporting Duties;
+ Establishing and maintaining an appropriate reporting line from all staffs in The Store, and report to and/or seek consultation from the supervisor and/or any other departments if necessary.
– Understandings of Law and Regulations;
+ The Store Manager is specialized for The Store’s matters, and it must understand sufficient enough about any laws and regulations regarding The Store activities including but not limited to commercial code, penal code, copyrights and trademarks including licensing.
– Others
+ Any other activities or matters related to The Store, or ordered from the supervisor and/or company from time to time.
2.5. Establishing Emergency Safe Place
– Together with the department in charge and instructions from HQ, turning The Store into the temporal and Emergency Safe Place to operate in the community in case of emergency (Crisis Situation) in the community in Vietnam for supports, such as occurring big disasters, riots, wars etc., and communicating HQ other necessary authorities and entities.
B. Job Requirement:
- University degrees
- Strong English Skills, (Recommendable but not required, Japanese Skills)
- Project management skills (including of establishing a new STORE)
- Very fluent in English (more than average of spoken and written)
- Strong knowledge of presentation skills and choosing appropriate words as both verbal and writing skills
- Strong communication skill (both verbal and written)
- Strong skills to collect information
- Basic risk and crisis management skills
- Details oriented and being able to handle multi-tasks
- Strong negotiation skills for external affairs including authorities and governments
- Good problem solving skill.
- Excellent organizing and time management skills
